Monthly Letter October 2026

Speicher, 26 October 2026

Dear Customer,

Travelling internationally, with curiosity in our luggage.

I am curious. Fortunately. Otherwise, many things might have remained nothing more than an idea. And I enjoy exchanging ideas with people. Wanting to come up with every good idea ourselves would be rather ambitious.

It was therefore exactly to my liking that, in October, suitcases were packed and knowledge was shared. Our field representatives were once again out and about for you at many locations and conferences. This personal exchange is valuable to us: your questions, experiences and suggestions provide inspiration for our daily work.

Our fitting support team was also represented internationally:

Bernd Brückner led the workshop at the VDCO SICHT.KONTAKTE event in Germany, …

…while Christina Fial led the workshop at the WKO conference in Austria.

Xenia Bieche shared her expertise in scleral lenses at EUROSCOLE in the United Kingdom.

Pascal Forrer represented us in Riga at the European Academy of Optometry and Optics (EAOO), …

… he will also continue to represent Appenzeller Kontaktlinsen AG at specialist conferences in Switzerland and abroad. Pascal knows our company and our products inside out. I greatly appreciate the knowledge and experience he contributes on our behalf. To ensure that your day-to-day enquiries can be handled quickly and directly, we ask our customers in Switzerland to contact our internal sales team directly.

And the fully booked workshops and the strong interest in freeform technology and our i-SHAPE make us eager for more.

More exchange. More hands-on experience. More possibilities for challenging fittings. Together with Schneider Optoshop, diagnostic work with the Scansys Pro was trained hands-on in Germany and Austria. Precise measurement data are an important foundation for ensuring that even the first individually manufactured lens fits well.

These encounters encourage me to remain curious and to keep developing solutions even for borderline cases. We share knowledge – and return with new ideas ourselves.

For all our thirst for knowledge and enthusiasm for travel, our fitting support team naturally remains fully staffed and reliably available to you at all times. A spirit of discovery alone does not lead to success – good planning matters just as much.

Wishing you every success with our contact lenses, best regards and see you next time.

Monthly Letter October 2026

Speicher, 26 October 2026

Dear Customer,

I like short routes.

Anyone who knows me knows that this also applies to the way I communicate. Works (= yes). No. Let’s do it. Let’s not. After all, some things don’t get any better just because they take more words – or more steps.

That is exactly why I would like to focus on two topics in this letter:

1. Our new daily and monthly lenses: Personnelle 1day and Personnelle monthly

Especially with contact lenses that are reordered regularly – for example as part of a subscription – one simple question comes up: If the fit and eye health are fine at the check-up and there is no need to change the material or lens design, does your customer really need to come back into the practice simply to collect the contact lenses they have ordered?

We think: not necessarily.

2. A service that makes reordering particularly easy

With our direct shipping service, we send the contact lenses straight from Speicher to your customer. You remain their point of contact and the sender shown on the parcel. We take care of the shipping. Cost: EUR 5.90 postage. This makes reordering our new daily and monthly lenses straightforward and saves unnecessary journeys on both sides. And of course, this service is not limited to our new lenses. It is also available for the other contact lenses in our portfolio.

For me, however, short routes do not mean less personal contact.

Quite the opposite. Whenever communication matters, it should be direct: through our Professional Service, our field sales team – or face to face. In October, for example, at SICHT.KONTAKTE in Berlin. And we are already looking forward to opti as well.

That is what efficiency means to me:

cutting out unnecessary steps – and creating more time for the contacts that really matter.

VWishing you every success with our contact lenses, best regards and see you next time.

PS on the opening image: Here in Switzerland, hiking trails are marked with yellow signs. White-red-white markings indicate more demanding mountain hiking trails, while white-blue-white markings are used for particularly challenging alpine routes. So the colours do not indicate how long the route is – they indicate its level of difficulty. ;)

Monthly Letter October 2026

Speicher, 26 October 2026

Dear Madam or Sir

This month, I am using this letter a little differently. Instead of recommending, announcing or explaining something new, I would simply like to share a few impressions from our summer gathering, which we celebrated last Friday here in Speicher. Claudia Kobbert travelled all the way from Frankfurt, Christina Fial from Bavaria. Karolina Keller organised the entire event with such dedication that you almost wonder when she ever takes a break.

Friday evening. No one had to stay. But everyone did – well into the night.

Bernd and I found ourselves having the same thought more than once that evening: Sitting together late into the night on a Friday, and deliberately not talking about contact lenses for once, makes us—quite frankly—feel grateful. And yes, also a little proud.

Here in Speicher, we are fortunate to work with people who are not only professionally driven, continuously improving and passionate about contact lenses, but who also know each other, trust each other and genuinely enjoy working – and spending time – together. That is a real advantage. For us, and ultimately for you.

A team that sticks together addresses issues more quickly, supports one another without hesitation, and collaborates with clarity and precision.

And that shows. In the quality of our work. If there is one thing I would like to leave you with about Appenzeller Contact Lenses, it is perhaps this: At a time when many teams in the market is being reshuffled or are still trying to find their footing, we are able here in Speicher to simply continue doing our work. With consistency.
With a team that continues to grow. And in which everyone has their place.

That may not sound spectacular. But it is exactly what makes innovation possible in the long term.

And that is what ultimately reaches you: Contact lenses that fit.

We hope you enjoy great success with our contact lenses. Best regards, and see you next time.
